以视觉,理论,结构,空间和灵活的定义和重新定义,定位和重新定位都市,农村,物理,心理,地缘政治,基础设施,社会/文化,虚拟,介导,...等边界概念,将在思想的结构和展览系统中形塑出来...在“深港大都会”一个居住条件快速变幻的年代,边界不是一个持续的,物理或区域概念,也不是一个固定,借来的空间/时间点利用基础设施/宣传/教学活动的提供;

The exhibition project aims at presenting the notion of a (city) boundary (i.e. “Hong Kong”) on a cultural x/change platform, embracing the medium of architecture, live performance, painting, photo/sound/videography, mixed-media or installation, defining and redefining the very notion of contemporary art, in the era of border-crossing.

(I) RETHINKING THE NOTION OF “BORDER” (i.e. HONGKONG/ SHENZHEN-CHINA) TRANSGRESSING/ CROSSING THE LOCAL AND GLOBAL CONTEXT AND CONFINEMENT CREATING THE NEW FORM OF AWARED ART EMBRACING BODY ACTION, MEDIA, IDEA, VISION…

- to perceive a cosmopolitan urban city “Hongkong-Shenzhen (HK-SZ) or CHINA” as a development, something being created and something being missed…

something can co-generating/ co-habiting in something new and interesting….

- to rethink Hong Kong, Shenzhen or other urban district/ city’s position as a geopolitical/ representative symbol of industrialized capitalism- an inevitable global phenomenon?

- to create a “(alternative) vision” for the border cities/ communities being fortified by art projects with deep, international impact, and follow-up cultural exchanges, etc.

- to forge a dialogue crossing the boundary of art, history, social reflection, infrastructure and to create pluralism/diversity/dynamicism as cultural symbol and reinvigoration of cultural heritage such as CDAV or JCCAC and its geo-eco-political significances by showing its transformation from present to future…

- to revisit a small number of artworks (the past) and realign them with other works or projects (the present) here from various time periods, crossing the boundary of time.

(II) VISUAL, THOUGHT-FORM AS ALTERNATIVE ARCHIVE Archive will take the a variety of form crossing and embracing body, video/ photography, film, painting and mixed-media project. Crisis of Modernism (functional/ rational) / Inadequateness of Postmodernism (human-oriented/ irrational)

 build for the development of our cities and create the “second” history of the cities by showing “the past” could actually embrace the up-to-date and upcoming... - to create the alternative NEW CITY ARCHIVE

 reactivate the border-crossing areas and art-forms, etc. The archive takes the form of body, video, mixed-media, reflecting a self-reflexive process of each artist

 to overview a past-present-future status quo

 to explore more cultural tensions involved by the process of city synchronization, urbanization, and over development in the areas of environment. - to create an archive as an aesthetic, sensory, and intellectual response

 to the constant revolutionizing of life in HK, SZ, China and Asia… (i.e. economic/ social/ cultural/ political/ religious etc..) - to create an archive as memory as practice

 to perceive the immaterial social and economic structures into abstract quality (gender, class, religion, and nationality) and even more corporeal realities (Bourdieu, 1977)

RATIONALE︳

(A) Crisis of Modernism (functional/ rational) / In-adequateness of Postmodernism (human-oriented/ irrational)

 Creating an Alternative/ Otherness/ Parallel of TWO is the very notion of contemporary art and this festival Synonym and Analogy with Modernism “Number is matter”

 mass production

 large quantity “Efficiency is matter”

 fast and fast

 speed “Function is matter”

 formalism and without context

 dehumanized “Reproduction is matter”

 originality and aura

 repetitive/ mechanistic

 high-techno

(B) Creating the alternative NEW CITY ARCHIVE and

 to reactivate the border-crossing thinking and art-forms, etc. The archive takes the form of body, video, mixed-media, reflecting a self-reflexive process of each artist

 to overview a past-present-future status quo

 to explore more cultural tensions involved by the process of city synchronization, urbanization, and over development in the areas of environment. Creating an archive as an aesthetic, sensory, and intellectual response

 to the constant revolutionizing of life in HK, SZ, China, Asia and other global cities… (i.e. archive alternative economic/ social/ cultural/ political/ religious ideas, etc..) Creating an archive as a new social formation/ critics of the industrial modernity

 to accept and be ready to change “ways of living and models of action” Creating an archive as a radiation to border districts, artists, and publics

 to form intuitions of memories

 to aware contemporary art as a specific form of social knowledge. i.e city development and social class etc.. Creating an archive as memory as practice

 to perceive the immaterial social and economic structures into abstract quality (gender, class, religion, and nationality) and even more corporeal realities (Bourdieu, 1977)

(C) Social Ants/ social Plant

 a study model of city development after industrial modernity “multiplication of needs” (Karl Marx)

 modern city as a consumer-driven society

 Capitalism depends on and fosters the drive towards accumulation by creating imaginary promises of happiness and freedom through consumptions Industrial plant, installation, and facility

 becoming the fossils of modern dinosaurs i.e. monumental and impressive

 lifeless/ no economic value i.e. no longer productive and created employment. (as like as Becher, Bernd & Hilla)

 to the extreme “commodity fetishism” to the industry (Cain, Ben, 2012) Plants (Metaphyta or Plantae) are one of the two groups into which all living things have been traditionally divided;

the other is animals (also called Metazoa).. (Linnaeus, 1707–1778) Ants are social beings as human and they work for a close-system and “self-contained/ sufficient and highly organized matriarched colonies”. (Shen Kuai, 2012)

Each ant is born with assigned work (associated with the term citizenship, citizen rights, social status, and society etc.) which contributes to the welfare of the entire colony Plants are living organisms as human.

Plants provide most of the world oxygen and are the basis of the earth ecology. Ants and Plants are signified as biological interaction as human society i.e. symbiosis (defined as "the living together of unlike organisms. Heinrich Anton de Bary, 1879), parasitism, competition, etc….
