Xmas, New Year and Chinese New Year are coming in a roll. Many people are planning to get away in these festival seasons. First question usually is - Where to go? Landmark is the key element of travel photography. Even you may not shoot yourself but you will shoot the landmarks. Landmarks make people travel but also make everybody's travel pictures more or less similar. As if the same setting, just with different people key into the photo.

This series of picture were shot with both film and digital over ten years in a number of countries that I lived in. They are photos that don’t show any hints of their locations.
Each photograph (without editing) is a true representation of physical space -SOMEwhere. Those spaces in my photos existed, but space like that can be existed anywhere as if they are NOwhere. NOwhere doesn’t mean it is not attractive. The seduction of the unknown is exactly the source of the charm. A place with charm is definitely SOMEwhere!
I challenged myself by using different types of photography(picturesque landscape, documentary portraiture) and styles (atmospheric, abstract, realistic and conceptual) to create 5 sets of photo which carried out the theme - NOwhere/SOMEwhere.
Set 1: TREE of 3 different countries with alienated feeling that leaving audience a mystery. It is all about feeling and atmosphere but not location.

Set 2: DREAM are often fragmented and surreal. Each photo is an interaction between 3 people in 3 different rooms. Stories continued with other peoples in the same 3 rooms in the next 2 photos.
Kaleidoscope creates picture by repeating images of the same fragment.
In both dream and kaleidoscope, location are very confused

Set 3: TIME makes the same place different.
Set 4: HOMELESS and poor oldies privatizing public space. They sit and sleep at anywhere on the street, behave as ease as if they are at home. Their home is nowhere/ anywhere can also be their home.
Set 5: PATH is a way to somewhere, but here in these photos the destinations are unknown.
