The Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) is a renovated factory building in Shek Kip Mei, Hong Kong that has become home to over 150 local artists, art groups and creative professionals. JCCAC provides studio, gallery and work space for Hong Kong artists to develop, practice and showcase their work.
Built in the 1970s, the Shek Kip Mei factory estate was one of the first buildings to provide low-cost space to Hong Kong’s emerging light industry and manufacturing sector, and contributed much to the early growth of the territory.
Today, with the generous support of the Hong Kong Government, the Jockey Club Charities Trust, and the Hong Kong Baptist University, the building has been completely refurbished, creating a vibrant a hub for the local arts community, while preserving the past and paying tribute to a previous generation of craft and labour.
