Title: Strangers

Familiar environment, unfamiliar feeling

In recent years, extraordinary changes have occurred due to the impact of different events.  I found that the people, things, and things around me all seemed familiar, but they were out of place.

There is a strange feeling deep inside.

Here in Art Chong In Lane lies a micro JCCAC arts village—where artists from JCCAC will present an intense art experience spanning exhibition, creation, and collection. We promise you a rewarding artistic eye-opener!

JCCAC is working with five resident artists to “break into” PMQ, in a collaboration to set up a mini arts village filled with memories and creativity, for a while month from 29 September to 29 October. The art street within the cultural hub that is PMQ will feature works spanning art forms as diverse as illustration, printmaking, oil painting and Thangka painting. More than the chance to indulge yourself in the pleasure of admiring the artists’ creations, do seize the opportunity to create your own work by joining an array of exclusive workshops during the exhibition period. Artworks, handicraft items and limited-edition souvenirs will also be available for sale to discerning collectors during that period.

Bringing their imagination to reality through brush strokes and other unique techniques, JCCAC artists will strive to showcase their creativity which knows no bounds. A wander into the realm of Art Chong In Lane is going to be an exotic and unforgettable experience for embracing art and local culture.

The exhibition is presented by JCCAC; it will connect artists and visitors by giving a taste of the ambience of the vertical arts village at JCCAC which is filled with artist studios and creative output. We hope that the experience at PMQ will inspire the public’s imagination and their thirst for artistic knowledge and experience.

About Exhibition

The connection between people is closer than imagined. Setting aside different perspectives, viewpoints, and language, every life is also interconnected. In this shared backdrop bestowed by nature, city dwellers busy themselves day and night, striving to build and accumulate. Can we see that under the same sky, we are quietly connected by ordinary things?

The creators hope to express the joy of exploring nature and discovering life through a pair of small characters - Little Bear and Pig. They aim to store their feelings in a colorful world.

About Artist

Graduated and started working as a graphic designer. Huen then rekindled her childhood interest in painting and began creating watercolor works and established Oo Huen Illustration. With the inspirations of inner emotions and imagination, Huen expresses and explores herself through artistic creation, to preserve a simple and pure space amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.

About Exhibition

As an artist who enjoys exploring various creative mediums, Pak Huen will be attempting to present illustration and comic stories through printmaking. In the 'Fruit Party printmaking showcase recently, Pak Huen highlighted the personalities of different fruits through shapes and colors, accompanied by imagination to tell nuanced yet relatable stories. In the coming exhibition, 4 pieces are chosen from the mentioned printmaking series, and the concept will be extended with the addition of 'comic prints' as a supplement to the original images. Continuing with fruits as the theme, 'Encounters and Separations' aims to share more concrete and increasingly complete stories with the audience.

LI Pak Huen Esther (L4-05)

Li graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts in Hong Kong Baptist University. She mainly focuses on illustration, acrylic painting, printmaking and animation. About Exhibition

'Past and present life, collective subconscious, spiritual memory...

By putting these fragments together, can we piece together the "self"?

The so-called "I" is the experience of the soul at the moment.

I recorded the dreamy illusion bubbles, then punctured them one by one.

Self-nature is the essence of the universe.

Everything arises due to causes and conditions.

About Artist

FOK Wai Chung Chantal (L6-20)

After graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Fok went to Shangri-La in Yunnan to learn Thangka.
